Full Version: Matrixtreme owners: Have you noticed a general "slowdow

Hi, this may be hard to describe, but after last weeks "routerswitch" upgrade, a lot of my users have reported very slow (50%) transfer speeds. I was doing easily 15mbit out with around 10 users and now with 25 users I barely break 10mbit. Though it does not seem to affect all users since I am apparently unaffected, can it be just the nature of cogent peering or could the switch upgrade have affected it? Can anyone comment? I know cogent may depend on routing, but the difference from this week and last week is almost night and day.

Another "off-topic" thing: I cannot seem to access my site (downloadanime.org) from the server.

pinging from SM resolves: 69.93.99.122
from outside of SM, it resolves correctly to: 65.19.166.242

bottom line, who's at fault here? me, SM, or my provider, he.net ? thanks all

I don't know, I'm too far away from the datacenter to get full speed.

If they only give you 20Mbps, how would a 1000Mbps NIC help over a 100Mbps NIC?

TP will be turning on a second GigE connection to Cogent soon, for the Matrix Extreme clients.

That SHOULD help, but we can't really know, can we, since ThePlanet keeps their Cogent MRTG graphs secret or only for MX clients. Us "normal" clients don't get to see them.
