I have a problem! i have a domain registered and hosted by uk2.net

i wish to have it hosted on my own dns server so i configured it

zone mydomain.net with entries ns1.mydomain.net ns2.mydomain.net

when i try to add these into uk2.net's setup i get the error ns1.mydomain.net not found.

any ideas how to set this up?

You would need to create the new namesevers first. This is done via the regisrar where you bought the domain. They should have a page where you can create/register new nameservers based on your domain name. If you cannot find it, ask them. This is different from specifying existing nameservers for your domain, which is probaly what you have tried earlier.

yes i think i was doing the later.

i may do it as suggested was ori will talk to nominet about registering a new domain name with nameservers under it .

i wiish to be my own/and a registrant and not use third party for may own setup
