Full Version: Question about using SM DNS servers
The Planet Forums > System Administration > DNS Hosting

Hi, a silly question perhaps, but I couldn't find the answer elsewhere: my understanding is that I can use SM's nameservers (for free) for domains hosted on my SM server(s). Is it possible to edit the A, MX, etc records manually through orbit (which is what I want) or do I have to submit tickets for every change?

Nope, you just need to submit one ticket to get us to add it to our DNS servers. After that, you can edit the zone through Orbit.

Okay, I got it to work, thanks. I'm quite pleased with flexibility with which DNS entries can be edited, although it's obviously not for newbies... which suits me just fine, as I dislike unnecessary functionality overhead anyway.
