Full Version: Question about DNS clustering

Hello,

I've got two servers which both run seperate DNS. Let's say:

server1 : ns1.server1.com, ns2.server1.com
server2 : ns1.server2.net, ns2.server2.net

What I'd like to do is to let server2 take over the DNS of server1 (and vice versa) in case there's something wrong with the DNS on server1.
I've read this is possible via DNS clustering in cPanel.

My question is the following :
If I activate DNS clustering on both servers, will I be able to register a new domain name with all four DNS servers ?

E.g.
domain name : newdomainname.com
DNS: ns1.server1.com, ns1.server2.net, ns2.server1.com, ns2.server2.net

or am I totally missing the point here?

I *believe* this is possible, but not having seen it in action I could be way off. I'd probably set it up and test it first before going live with it.

Hmmm... that's a very *safe* answer icon_lol.gif
Unfortunately both servers already contain customers and are in production... and I do not have two spare servers to test it on... icon_confused.gif
Has anyone tried this out yet or knows *for sure* it will work?
