So I want to upgrade to the brand new Plesk 7 from 6.5 (Windows)
what steps should I take to make sure it will work properly? and will I have to readd all my domains and set them up again?

Likewise!
I'm lucky to say that I have just started out with ServerMatrix and thus I have only three clients on the box,.. so if any chnages needed,... I can probably erase them and have a fresh install.
Does the licesne work to upgrade?
running 6.5.2 on a ServerMatrix box.

I tried it and it didn't work out so great, the only way you can use your key is if you can get servermatrix to upgrade your 6.5 key to 7.0 which I want to try to do, anyways I backed up using plesk backup and that backup was messed up so I couldn't use that... good thing I backed up the sites and db's seperately also anyways I had to uninstall 7 since I couldn't use my key and it only allows you to have 1 domain which sucks. so I had to reinstall 6.5 and re setup my domains which was annoying....
hopefully plesk comes out with an updater so you don't have to re setup your domains and settings and also hopefully servermatrix will support plesk 7 soon b/c I like the new features of it

I think it is a must to upgrade to the Plesk 7.
If you want to offerf ASP.NET,. you just have to have it.
Why?
Well... I have a user who uploaded few scripts he wrote.. and voilla...he is now able to run programs that are registered as System!
That means.. if anyone wants to installl viruses,...run their own programs which will hog the computer.. well.. as of today. they have no problem doing that!
I only have 3 sites.. well. 2 actually and the third one is simply my own testing site. One of them is a heavy duty forum that is utilizing heavy resources (mysql database with roughly 400MB which are cleared every month or so) and another website is simply a guy who wants to see if he can run ASP.NET commands.. a 'friendly hacker'.
Well.. the friendly hacker wrote a small program that made the program called dbspy.exe run on the server (we were attempting to find a solution to find access to MS-SQL server).
Well.. he didn't tell me about this program.. but the other forum simply crashed with mySQL error msgs.
I did a remote desktop to see what's going on.. and I see this program I've heard nothing before and it has a funny name called dbspy.exe (kinda suspicious name).
Well... I later asked the guy about this program and he told me that YES.. he was the one running it.
It showed on the processes list in Task Manager as a system resource ran program. Can you imagine what can happen if you upload a virus or simply want to kill or run any other program????
And this is done by a legitimate regular user who DOES NOT HAVE system access! only a webhosting account! (with ASP.NET enabled).
Plesk 7 promises a much tighter security model with IIS separarte application pool.. (I hope this resolves that problem).
I hope this will be available soon as I would like to offfer ASP.NET hosting option which now.. I cannot.
