I just bought a new server with redhat and cpanel, i have another server running bsd and cpanel. I want to use the same nameservers as im using on the freebsd one, as after i move everyone, i'll be shutting it down.

Ive gone into edit setup on the bsd one, and removed the nameservers in there, and changed the hostname of the server as well. restarted bind, even rebooted, i changed the ips assicioated with the nameservers on directnic to the new box.

I then when intomanage nameserver ips, and tried to remove the nameservesr from the bsd box, and it says "The ip 69.93.x.xx is now ready for re-use as a diffrent nameserver" then when i goto the new box, it wont let me use it, says its already assigned to my bsd box., and it still shows in the manage nameserver ips on the old box. Ive tried everything i can think of, but i cant get it to release those nameservers so i can use them on the new box.

Any ideas? Im probably doing everything wrong lol.

This is an error i get when i try to release my second namserver Sorry, the nameserver ip 69.93.x.xx cannot be removing since it is still registered with an ICANN register.

you need to change the IP #s for yourname servers at your domain registrar

then wait for propagation
