Hello..

i have a problem:

i have my domains at www.kontent.de - the allow me to change the DNS a, cname and mx Record for each domain/subdomain i have there...

I tried to Point DNS a of www.treknews.de to the ip of my raq-server... with no result.. i just get a error page from kontent.de when i access my domain....

is there something to set at the server's/rackshack's control panel?

Not sure I understand what you are trying to do? Are you trying to run DNS for your RS-RAQ from another server ?

i have my domain www.treknews.de registered at www.kontent.de

in the past i used a 'frame-redirection' for my domain - it pointed to "http://trek-news.gamigo.de/treknews/" (for example)

No i have this totally cool raq - and want my domain to point to the IP of the server (216.40.216.16) so my domain is not longer a redirection...

I can set DNS a, DNS cname and DNS mx settings in the web-base configuration interface of Kontent.de - so i selected DNS a and as Hostname the 216.40.216.16 IP....

but i only get a error page from kontent.de - try www.treknews.de

is there something else that i have to do ?

You may have to wait for DNS propagation if you have made changes.

Why not just change the nameservers on the domain to point to either Rackshack DNS servers or setup your own DNS nameservers on the RAQ and do the DNS yourself.

1 tip...don't use cnames...they are evil

well.. i changed the settings - and after a few minutes the domain points to a error page *g* - so something has changed... but not the way i wanted it to change

how can i do this DNS server stuff you wrote about...

i don't wanna loose my configuration ability for my subdomains via the kontent.de web-interface

Then you will need to continue to do the DNS from kontent.de.

sitemail.everyone.net internet address = 216.200.145.35

Looks like the nameservers are still pointing to 194.231.46.231.

yeah - they are still pointing to the NS of Kontent - i don'T know why....

any idea ?

You will have to check with kontent.de...
