Full Version: Plesk Tomcat add-on, does it just work?

I am just about to get a new server at ServerMatrix, but I am already concerned about something. Plesk Tomcat add-on, does it just work?

The reason I ask this question is this; I needed to have this enabled, but it never happened with the host that I am about to leave. The sales representative I chatted several hours ago told me that this will definitely work, but I'll never know until I upload a JSP/Java application.

Is anyone here(ServerMatrix) using Plesk 7.x Tomcat add-on? Is it working? More importantly, did it just work when you first got it?

I would also like to know which version of tomcat it is.

The only reference I found on SW-Soft's website about the versions is for Plesk 6 and I am not sure if the mix is still relevant.

Create an account and drop a .war file in there. If tomcat is running and active on that account, it should pick that up and expand it so you can run the application.

I'd be curious as to what user Tomcat is running as under Plesk because it made me leary when the default Cpanel Tomcat install wanted to run under root.
