Full Version: GD Library...

I need the GD library installed for a script that I am working on. I see that it is an option in the install apache module of CP. Is it as simple as checking the box to install it? I am running PHP 4.3.3 right now. I do not have a lot of experience installing modules (none actually) so, as a pessimest, would like to know what could be wrong. Hopefully nothing! Thanks.

Real newbie question...where is easyapache? I'm looking at:

Apache Build/Upgrade
Main >> Software >> Update Apache

Is that the same? In it, both Php Module 4.3.3 and Version 4.3.8 have checkmarks next to them too, which struck me as odd.

In WHM versions 7.9.1 (I think) and higher, you can use Update Apache. Choose Load Previous Config first unless you know what you're doing.

Second question -- if you're talking about the section that says Php Module (Version 4.3.3) and the subsection with Version 4.3.8, that's normal. As long as the top part of the section is checked (ignore the version 4.3.3) and a version is flagged in the section (only 1!), you should be OK.

I'll admit that in this case, I really don't know what I'm doing so the help is certainly appreciated. According to the control panel, I am running:

WHM 9.4.0 cPanel 9.4.0-E36

I would then click the Load Previous Config?

Php Module (Version 4.3.3) is checked at the top of the section. Within the section then, Version 4.3.8, Bc Math, Calendar Support, FTP, Magic Quotes, Mysql module, Discard Path, Pear, Sockets, Track Vars, Versioning, and Zlib are all checked.

I see the GD (Version 2.0.15) that I am interested in, but it is unchecked.

So I would just check the GD box and hit load previous config? Or Start Build? Will this update me to 4.3.8 too?

I just don't want to mess this up. The server is running perfectly right now...I just want the GD support.

Thanks.

In that case, it sounds like PHP 4.3.8 is installed (click on Cpanel/WHM news to make sure). All you'd need to do is click on Load Previous Config (it'll reload the parameters from the last build done) and then check the checkbox for GD. Then choose build and let it fly...

When I click on Load Defaults, version 4.3.3 is checked in both locations now. So I would check off 4.3.8 and then build apache to upgrade to the later version and then repeat with GD checked? Is there any reason to back up the entire site (which would take hours) or is this a pretty straightforward upgrade and NOTHING could go wrong. I hope!
