Getting this email from cpanel (replace IP and servername)
IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email.
The hostname (servername.servermatrix.com) resolves to . It should resolve to x.x.x.x. Please be sure to correct /etc/hosts as well as the 'A' entry in zone file for the domain.

Some are all of these problems can be caused by
/etc/resolv.conf being setup incorrectly. Please check this file if you
believe everything else is correct.

You may be able to
automaticly correct this problem by using the ' Add an A entry for your
hostname ' under ' Dns Functions ' in your Web Host Manager
The /etc/hosts file has the servername.servermatrix.com in and if I look at the zone for servername.servermatrix.com in WHM there is a A name which resolves to the ip it's mentioned in the email.

I'm not running my own NS's but using SM's, is this the problem? Do I need to raise a DNS ticket to get servername.sermatrix.com added to there DNS?

the 'servername.servermatrix.com' should technically be your hostname.yourdomain.com but since you are not using the server DNS, you could ignore the whole error thing since it is not applicable.

Cheers Eddy,

Should the 'servername.servermatrix.com' work if I'm using the shared SM NS's/DNS?

I believe it would basically be ignored since the DNS servers on your server is not being used.

Ok, don't need it, just wondered.
