Full Version: My domain name is not accessible...what's going on?

I recently had a new Plesk box set up by SM. It has been problematic from the beginning. Initially the login info was recorded incorrectly, and so I was locked out of the box for days. That has been resolved, as well as numerous other issues, but now I'm having a problem that seems rather elementary...but I can't figure out what's wrong.

I have set up the domain name "trinityelite.com" in Plesk as a physically hosted account. I also have three domains pointed to it, namely "trinityelite.net", "trinity-elite.com" and "trinity-elite.net". The IP for this site is 67.19.100.27. I am using ServerMatrix's nameservers (ns1.servermatrix.com & ns2.servermatrix.com), and I recently asked SM to set up reverse DNS on the primary domain trinityelite.com, which they say they did.

The problem I'm having is that the site is simply not accessible using any of the domain names. Attempting to access via the URL results in a "site not found" or similar type of warning depending on your browser. The nameserver settings for the domain have had plenty of time to propogate, so that isn't the problem.

This is the first time I've used Plesk as my control panel (trying to get away from C-Panel), and while I really like it, I'm wondering if there are some DNS settings I need to manually configure on my server if I'm using SM's DNS servers? Any tips would be *greatly* appreciated.

Thanks.

Apart from asking SM to do a reverse DNS for your domain names, did you use the Domain Admin Ticket to have them include the domain names in question hosted on their DNS servers ? It seems like the entries are not on their DNS servers.

Reverse DNS is useful for validating emails but that's all it is for. You need a forward DNS entry for each of your domain names or else they just would not resolve.
