I setup a subdomain abc.mydomain.com >> mydomain.com/abc

When I point to abc.mydomain.com in the browser, the page open up correctly but mydomain.com/abc is shown in the browser's address bar. Is there a way to have it showing abc.mydomain.com?

How? where? any control panel? have you set it as a re-direct to /abc or something silly?
SuperBaby
I set it under cPanel >> Sub Domain >> Redirect

abc.mydomain.com >> mydomain.com/abc

You shouldn't use the redirect, I think. Just setup the subdomain, and it's taken for granted that you will use the folder with that name.

oh, I just realized that I only need to set up the sub domain and NOT the redirection.
