Full Version: Mailscanner .zip's

Usually when someone tries to send you a .exe most mailservers bounce it and tell you to put it in a .zip and resend it, which is what I get people to do, however with mailscanner installed even if the .exe is within a .zip it removes it as a 'dangerous attachment' icon_sad.gif

Is there some way to get it not to do this? I still want it to open the .zip to check for virii, but I don't want it to discard the attachment based on filetypes in the zip if they are virus free.

Sorted it I guess.

Changed mailscanner to accept .exe files (so if it finds one in a .zip and it's virus free then it'll let it through), and setup an exim filter to bounce .exe files (so if someone just attaches a .exe it'll throw it back at them and tell them to zip it - but won't open .zip's to look inside for .exe's)

You can configure it to allow clean zip files in. I personally recommend using Exiscan rather then MailScanner.

How? I couldn't find any option for it in the config or the filter rules.
