24-48 hours? I wish.

120 hours, still no server.

Placed the order on Wednesday with theplanet (paying more for better support is a good thing), got the confirmation call within about 10 minutes.

Since then, nothing but delays, open support tickets, very little if any feedback from support other than "it's being built now"... I REALLY needed to do the move from the current server this weekend. Ugg.

Is this common?

This is definitely very very very unusual. So far my servers came within 12 hours of the confirmation. Something is definitely wrong somewhere. Was there any tickets being created or updated in regards to your server. In Orbit, check under the Hardware tab and see if the Server Password tab has something. If there is you might be able to log into your server through the IP address assigned.

all mine took about 24 hrs.. not bad at all... read ur email closely, it might be up and u just over looked it... becosue waiting that long is odd.

the latest support ticket info,

"I appologize for the installation delay but your server is provisioned and CPanel is currently installing. CPanel does take a while to install, though it should be completed shortly. Thank you for your patience."

That was time stamped at 4 am this morning.... how long does cpanel take to install, lol.

cPanel takes roughly an hour to install. Please PM me your ticket number and I'll see what the holdup is.

It's up! I feel better. Although they responded too quickly to a ticket I submitted after it was up and running, there was only 1 gig of 2 installed. 5 minutes later they took the server back down to install the 2nd gig... , right in the middle of a BIG site transfer, lol.

It's all good. The server is smoking fast (moving over from a dual PIII 1 GHz machine)
