Some interesting side effects using the subject.
I installed a few IPSec lists, one to block everything, one to open up
ports 80, 443, 25, 110, and 3389, and one to open up the ip range
SM uses to monitor. Works fine.
I added RRAS which opens 80, 443, 25, 110 and 3389 again and again
all is well.
When I close 80 and 443 in RRAS, my domains are no longer accessible from the web, as I expected. I close them after testing.
I installed MailEnable, default port 25, and mail works as expected, but when
I close 80 and 443 under RRAS, they no longer seem to close, my web sites
are stil viewable form the web.
While this is a bit of an annoyance, I can go back to IPSec and close them,
it appears there are some iusses with RRAS or the combination of the three.
More concerning is the Port Scan I ran on my server and the results showed alot of ports open, even though the services have been disabled and IPSec and RRAS supposedly have them blocked. The port scan reported that there where no programs connected to the ports, but the ports were not stealthed as they should have been.
I will disable RRAS next and re-run the portscan and see if I can gleam who or what is the culprit.
Anyone see things like this?
