some of the servers got hit by cpanel bug, users cant login. there is a simple fix on the cpanel.net forum

Just so you don't have to search for it:

cp /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/imapd /usr/sbin

Got caught by this also. It was the RHE 3.0 up2date last night that apparently updated the imapd file and created the problem. Scott's solution above solves it quickly though - thanks to Scott and the folks on the cpanel fourm.

SquirrelMail still giving eror on my RHE 3.0 box:

ERROR : Could not complete request.
Query: CREATE "INBOX.Sent"
Reason Given: CREATE failed: Can't create mailbox node /home/xxxxxx/: Permission denied

If you refresh that frame in your browser 5 times, it should be ok. Try it.
