Full Version: SSH and apache config files?

Hello,

I'm a newbie so please forgive my ignorance.

I wish to access the apache config files and from what I have read I believe that I need to use SSH to log into my server and then locate the files? Is this correct?

I have downloaded and installed putty and have tried to SSH to my server. It connects ok and I'm asked to enter my username "root" and my password ******* , but for some reason it won't let me in?

Does changing the Admin password in Plesk change the server's password, or are they separate?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Paul
I'd assume changing the main password for plesk will also change your root password, however I've not used plesk so can't be 100% sure on that.

Thanks for your reply,

Unfortunately Plesk didn't seem to do it so I put in a request at Orbit and I now have SSH access! Which is very nice icon_smile.gif

Ah well, there was a 50:50 chance of me being wrong or right icon_razz.gif
