Forum,
I have successfully setup my own NS in Plesk, following these steps:
1. Registered NS1/2 with my registrar, using 2 seperate IPs I received from ServerMatix.
2. Added A and NS entries into my main domain DNS in Plesk.
3. Requested reverse DNS for my IPs as a support ticket to The Planet ticket system.
Everything is working fine on my first, main domain.
Question: As I begin adding additional domains to Plesk, do I have to insert the A and NS entries each time, in every domian, or will they resolve being only in my main domains DNS settings?
Thanks
Jeric

Jeric,
For additional domains you will just need to add the name servers so basically the 2 NS records. You only create the A records once and thats it.
I hope this helps.

Thanks Rook,
I initially found DNS setup information all over the place in this forum and elsewhere, for various panels.
This made a seemingly complicated issue even more diffucult than it really needs to be. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Do you know of a professional DNS resource (book, website, etc.) that puts various DNS issues into plain english, so I can take my understanding a bit further? (O'reilly perhaps?)
Thanks,
Jeric

You will need to insert enteries into your DNS tables but you dont need ns1 and ns2.domain enteries unless you want that domain to have its own nameservers.
You can use the ns1 and ns2 enteries for your server for all the domains that run on that server.
