Has FloodGuard prevented any DOS attacks for you guys? In reading the posts all I see are complaints about it not working etc.

Anything positive to report with this service?
Daejuan
If they're legitimate HTTP requests then FloodGuard is useless. But, if it's an IP throwing traffic your way like a 'SYN flood', then Floodguard will more then likely prevent it.

So it' does work, just not in all cases.

We have ordered it, and haven't found it too have done anything so far, but I will keep you updated and see if it actually does work.

How would you know if it worked?
Matt Brown
Well I supose the lack of ddos attacks coming in would say it's working, icon_wink.gif other then that I wouldn't really know, I'm still waiting for the 14 day training period to end icon_twisted.gif

It has worked when my game servers have been DoSed. It has taken care of spikes from 10 to 30 Mbit. It lowers the initial spike rather quickly then it fades out.

Glad to hear some positive feedback. Hope to hear more soon!

If I wanted to protect my 5 IPs, I should get the 8 IP block for $10 per month?

Cheers.
Argyle
Yes, to protect 5 IPs you need to get the 8 IP block.
