I'm having a heck of a time getting Bind installed and working with Webmin. None of the chroot how-to's seem to be anything like what I'm seeing on my server.
I've spent way too much time messing with it and I'm wasting money having 2 servers while I try to get this one ready to change over too..
anyone out there good with bind/webmin that can quote me a price to set it up? I'm at my wits end and just want to stop paying for 2 servers.
drop me a PM on here if you can help.

Well I have Webmin setup and working along with usermin and virtualmin.. they all seem to work fine but I can't get any sites to work.. I'm under the impression it will only work if I get Bind working and use my own nameservers. I'd like to think I'm not a total newbie but I just cannot get Bind setup to save my life. I can't get any sites to come up on the new server with virtualmin setup.

Which Linux are you running? and you shouldn't need bind at all to have apache serve web pages, but you do need to have dns hosted somewhere. Post or pm an IP address and some more specifics.

I'm running RHE ..
I was under the impression it would work without Bind if I was using external nameservers. But I had a domain added to SM's nameservers and entered it into virtualmin etc as I should and I cannot get it to work. I started thinking that maybe Virtualmin requires you to run your own nameservers? Maybe i'm wrong?

Ok I have BIND running now.. and Virtualmin has my domain setup inside.
My domain is pointing at The Planet's name servers yet I cannot get this site to load on my server? Any suggestions?

Sph33r,
There are a couple of config changes you would need to make for everythiung to work right using the Virtualmin module in webmin.
The original module was written for rhe 2, so a couple lines are not in the correct lines for httpd.conf.
Also, don't trust the default directory settings for the modules config files.
Bind is listed as being chrooted in "/var/run/named", but using this setting, it looks for the config to be "/var/run/named/etc/named.conf"....
So you have to change the chroot directory to "/"
PM me if you want some detailed help with this.
