If you ask me, the forum does seems very active and since it relies on PHP and MySQL, it can get quite intensive.

For the price break, a P4 2.8 should give you the needed power and also some room to expand.

If you work the other lower plans, they do not come out to be cheap for you. Since my advise would be to have at least 1gb RAM.

A Celeron 1.7 would work but it would not be very fast.

Definatly go for one of the HT enabled boxes (Superserver 2.8 and above). icon_smile.gif

I presume you already have this forum running somewhere... What hardware are you currently hosting on and how has it been performing for you? With 86,400 seconds in a day, you're looking at an average of less then 1 hit every 2 seconds. My guess is that during peak hours, you'd see up to about 3 - 5 hits per second. Even for a PHP/mysql site, this isn't a very big number. I've never run a php/mysql site that got anywhere near that many hits so I don't really have an educated opinion about which server you should run. I'd be interested to know what you're currently running it on and what your page generation times are. Also, do you run a php accelerator? What's your memory usage like. Load avg, etc.

SuperServer 2.8 will do....if all numbers are correct.
