does it "learn" for 7 days since installation then just stop "learning" or is it always "learning"?

for example, if i order a box with floodguard but I don't do anything for the first week, will it not have learned at all?

i am curious about this too, my learning period needs to be delayed about a month. Only admin and setup stuff will happen on my box for at least a month.
