Full Version: Why does cpanel/whm restart apache every 10-15 minutes ?

tipster
This has been going on for a while now (and I'm not the only one), but cpanel/whm appears to be gracefully restarting apache every 10-15 minutes. It's irritating and negates some of the advantage of cache & accelerators.

Anyone know how to 1) Stop it. & 2) Why ? & 3) Cause ?

Thought I'd try here before raising a ticket.

Taken from Cpanel website in regards to the question

Apache is restarting every 10 minutes ? What's wrong ?

Nothing is wrong, this is normal. Cpanellogd sends a SIGUSR1 (graceful restart) every ten minutes to apache for log rotation and stats processing.
