Im adding a site to helm
and i need to change the mx record for the emails to point to to another server ip

in the DNS Zone Editor there is MX (Mail Exchange Record)

Record Type: MX (Mail Exchange Record)
Record Name: @
Record Data: mail.baghdadnow.com.
Record Preference: 21 * MX records only

should i delet this record and add another one
and what should i put in Record Data: should i put the ip for the servr
and what should i use in the Record Preference: is it also 21

Am I right

For email to work there must be an A record and an MX record. Try changing the IP address for the A Record for mail.domain.com to point to the other server's IP . Then you setup an MX record on the other server??????? Try something along those lines.

thank you

i changed the " mail A (Host Record) "
i changed the ip to the other server and its working fine

the problem now , when i send email from sites hosted in the same server the emails will not go to the forwarded server but stay in the same server email software like smartermail
while emails comes from other servers go to the forwarded server

I'm not really that familiar with Helm, or Windows mailers, however it seems like your MTA is thinking that is a local domain, and therefore doesn't forward it.

any suggestion , what to do

Well, if you no longer want to receive email for that domain, on this server, then I would remove that domains configuration from your MTA. That should fix your issue.
