Hi

I'm planning to start my own webhosting biz here in Portugal and Server Matrix will be my choice, but I would like some advices from you.

I use RH and FreeBSD, so I'm confortable with it, but I don't know if I should use a RH with CPanel or a FreeBSD with Plesk ?
I've read that CPanel and FreeBSD have some problems so I would like to avoid them.

I like the new Plesk 7 and I like to work with FreeBSD, but is this the way I should go, or should I stick with RH?
I've read that RH will start charging a fee per year ... is that true ?

What is your advice on this ?

For costummer billing I've seen ModernBill and WhoisCart.
What would be the best choice for CPanel and for Plesk ?

Finnaly, on the Super Celeron 1.7 How many costummers sould I place ?
50, 100 ??

Thanks for you help

If you end up deciding on Linux and cPanel, take a look at WHM AutoPilot as well for billing. A little cheaper and easier to setup than ModernBill. I've never looked at WhoisCart.

As for the rest, my choice would be RH and cPanel, but that's mostly because I know them the best. I haven't used Plesk, but I've looked at it and didn't seem to like it as much. The only bad thing about cPanel is it's not always the most secure control panel, but then again, the others are probably just as bad.

my advice, start off with a reseller account. Then when your big enough move to a dedicated server.
