I doubt there is any special requirements apart from installing and running the Coldfusion server application on the machine.

ColdFusion is now under the hands of Macromedia

There is two parts to the program. The developer edition which allows you to build coldfusion applications and the server edition which allows you to deploy the applications. I believe the developer edition is free.

If you're on Win2k3, then the CFMX setup process is mostly painless. I can't speak for CF on Linux, though.
If you're on a tight budget and need CFML support, you might also consider NewAtlanta's BlueDragon. The base server is free for production use, and provides most of CFMX's capabilities. (You mostly lose the J2EE integration stuff and access to handy things like getPageContext(), and CFMX6.1's ability to compile directly to bytecode.)

Coldfusion has a Linux version so that should not be a problem.

IMX, CFMX wants memory more than it wants raw CPU horsepower. So while a faster box is always a good thing, a RAM upgrade might have more impact.

I'm trying to install the free, stand-alone version of bluedragon, which only processes coldfusion tags(not java, or j2ee). I'm getting an error that says...
"error when loading shared libraries: libjvm.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory".
I really want to use bluedragon, but can't seem to find out how to install. Any help out there?
