Full Version: Adding Access Host in MySQL
The Planet Forums > Control Panels > cPanel/WHM
dude
Hello,

Have anybody tried using the Access Host in MySQL of cPanel? I understand that it will allow external server or domain to connect or use the MySQL db of a particular account. What will be the hostname to use (equivalent to localhost for local domain) by the external domain then to connect to the Db?

Thanks.
disoft
It should be available via the IP address, ie:

hostname: 111.222.333.444
database name: cpanelid_databasename
username: cpanelid_databaseusername
password: passwordforthisdatabase
dude
Thanks disoft. I'll try that.
Paul
Using the domain name as the hostname usually works aswell icon_smile.gif (aslong as you specify the port 3306 usually)
