If you require ASP then you be better off with a Windows server, it is cheaper and works better and it is fully compatible.

You can opt for SUN ASP One http://wwws.sun.com/software/chilisoft/ but that will cost you an additional $495 with a limited ASP support.

It basically allows you to use some ASP commands but it runs interpreted in Java before running on it.

If you are using Linux then stick with PHP.

What programs do you need them to install ? Check with sales about it. They can install common contents but if they are specific in nature, you can install them yourselves or have them do it for you at $75/hr.

If you require SUN Active Server Pages then you could purchase the license directly from SUN and install it yourself.
