Well I've been battleing this problem for some time now. It seems that Debian REFUSES to support Hyper-Threading. I've got SMP on, and I'm seeing 2 CPUs, but I should be seeing 4 in this dual xeon box.
From what I hear, it's those damn POSIX libaries I had a fight to the death with a few years ago...
Is anyone else having problems with this around here?

ACPI enabled in your kernel? (it must be and there's a specific option for HT). It's not enabled by default afaik.

After the upgrade to 2.4.25 from 2.4.24 last night, I'm now showing 4 CPUs.... very odd...

Nope, going from 2.4.24 to 2.4.25 would be an upgrade...
