I am getting this message: "ftpd failed @ Tue Feb 17 23:29:45 2004. A restart was attempted automagicly", and I can't ftp to my server. I tried to restart the ftp server from the WHM, but it still failed. What should I do to fix it? Please help me!

If you are using Proftpd, switch to PureFTP and see if it helps.

Could you tell me how to switch? I can only see Proftpd in my WHM. Is Pureftpd better?

In WHM, select 'Tweak FTP Settings' under Server Setup. Then click on 'Switch to PureFTPd'. Once you do that, restart your FTP Server. It will still list as 'Proftpd' under Restart Services.

After that under Service manager, you can uncheck Proftpd.

I had the same problem some time back and made the switch without regrets. It is tons faster.
