We are currently running Windows 2003 Server with the Helm control panel. I don't know if it's just bad luck, but we have been having numerous issues with Helm. We have seriously put some thought into buying a license from Plesk for their product Plesk 6.5. Has anyone had alot of experiance with it, from what we hear and see it's a much better product than Helm.
Do you think ServerMatrix should offer Plesk licenses? If so would you get one on your server?

No idea about Plesk since the Windows support is extremely new. I am using Ensim Webppliance Pro 2003 since August and loved it. Rented it here before but then bought my own license in November.
It may not be as robust as what HELM is supposed to be but it works right out of the box.

Helm works fine for us .. It had some bugs but the production team work best to solve the issues. Also there support team is very responsive.
I'ld say Helm still has many features missing but it rocks for us.

Plesk for Windows is apparently a truly horrible piece of software and everyone I've spoken to thats used it has quickly uninstalled it (and then had to re-install the server as it leaves such a mess behind).
It's basically just a port of the Linux panel to Windows with loads of features missing - it evens sets up it's own copy of Apache 2 on the server to run the control panel. I find this absolutely staggering when IIS is just sitting there waiting to be used and is properly integrated and secure.
Now you need to start keeping an eye out for Apache updates just because of a bloody control panel !
If you need further convincing take a look at Plesks own forum and the windows section, a group of not at all happy people there . . . .

HA,
We've been running Plesk 6.5 for 2 months now, and I have to say Plesk 6.5 >>> Helm any day. Plesk comes with a mailserver, webmail, and many more features that you would have to pay alot to use with Helm. Everything in Plesk 6.5.2 works perfect, and all of our customers love it. I think you got that Plesk post confused with Helm as we had nothing but issues with Helm, and the fact that Plesk works with Modernbill is a plus as well. We also rolled out Plesk 7 on RHEL and right now Plesk > Cpanel in Sales. I would like to see SM offer Plesk as I think it would good to have more options for control panels.
