Hi,
I've been pretty much tied to your ticketing system for the past few days, and I've got a simple (on the front end) formatting change to suggest that should make it much more readable (depending on the back end setup of your db though it might be a bit fiddly to put in, though there are ways around it)
When a new update is posted to a ticket, put in some sort of clear, non-text boundry between them. Ideally, this would be a new table cell for each update, with more emphasis on who posted it, and when (seperating the who and when a little wouldn't hurt either).
At present, if someone pastes in a chunk of updates from another ticket, they become (apart from the datestamps) difficult to tell apart from actual updates to the ticket.
Slightly different shades of alternating background colour can be used to further make it clear where each update starts and ends. A different colour could be used to represent posts by the customer; again, making it clearer to read.
I'm not talking garish, full saturation colours, just two shades of grey and a light blue or something would do the job.
Just my £0.02

A suggestion from myself: the link in the email - please change it to the updatable link or the list of links. I don't need to click on the link, log in, and then see the exact same thing I saw in the email - if I'm clicking on it to go into Orbit, it's either to change it or do something else, no reason to just go to the viewable and not updatable link. Just my 2c.

*bump* - as I've not seen any staffers reply to it

Not a bad idea at all. Light shades of color just like the forum uses, but a little ligher than the forum colors would be good.

Agreed - I just got my server here this month and I found it difficult to find what's been added to a ticket... especially since as a ticket is being worked on it seems multiple versions are created so there are links to 4 previous versions of a ticket, 3 of which appear to be identical
Adding a some lightly colored table cells to separate each update would be quite helpful.

They probably had internal notes added to them which you can't see.

Other way round, we have too little time on our hands, therefore we want to beable to quickly and easily see the latest reply to a ticket instead of having to read through the whole thing.

Hmmmm ... an interesting idea. Not only would it make it easier for you guys to see, but also easier for us when looking at tickets. I'll pass this up the chain of command and see what can be done.
Thanks for the suggestion!
