Anyone know what version is installed by default when you do the add scripts in WHM for osCommerce? It says unknown in Cpanel.

I'm confused because a couple of things I'm trying to do in oscommerce aren't working and not sure if its because of the version or not.

Thanks in advace.

as far as i know its running MS2 installs in current cpanel releases...

I would personally reccommend you use a copy from the osCommerce site or one fo the many loaded versions floating around.

I do a lot of oscommerce installs and a lot of coding work in the community and i find its far easier to do a custom install yourself on demand rather than trying to use the cpanel installer...

(Fantastico and the other addons are a different story...they are good)

I was trying to do a custom install, but not sure I'm doing it right. With virtual hosting when I put in the domain name for the database server then I put the username and password along with Database name I created in Cpanel MySQL setup. get a error like this

A test connection made to the database was NOT successful.

The error message returned is:

Access denied for user: 'username@server03.mydomain.com' (Using password: YES)

but I put in customerdomain.com in the domain name for setting it up. I don't know why it keeps getting mydomain.com and why I get denied access.

Its becoming extreemly frustrating. icon_sad.gif

I decided to completly remove everything. Then I created a SQL DB and this is the error I have now.

Now once I change them to 777 and get them installed should I change them back to like 744?
