My bandwidth usage report in WHM says "579.225457" while the "resource utilization report" from orbit says "740.4". How do I know where such a huge amount of bandwidth has been used... Thanks!
whm just counts http,pop3,smtp traffic
all other is not counted - like ssh wget
also whm is counting from logs - you dont see additional protocol traffic in logs.

I know that, but a 200 GIG difference is quite stressful! I'm checking the logs right now, yet I don't know what to look for

Did you notice the words Estimated transfer for January 2004 is in the Orbit Resource Utilization. The term Estimated means that it is not actual. Basically what it means is that it takes your current usage pattern and estimate how much bandwidth you will be using for the actual month, it gives you a pre-warning on how much bandwidth you will use ahead of time so you can make any adjustments if any to prevent it from overexceeding.
The bandwidth reported by WHM is actual usage which is from 1st to today's bandwidth. Orbit is from 1st to 31st.
Hope that clarifies things.

Yes I did... My orbit report says 744.4 gigs were used from january 1st to january 27. So this is not an estimated transfer but actual transfer. My estimated transer is higher than that : 854.9.
So I have the same problem. How can I know where that 200 is coming from? I don't run any script, only simple html pages (lots of traffic).

200gb is definitely massive.. You do realize that the Cpanel/WHM monitoring only monitors the services it controls and certain things are not monitored. The Orbit monitors all traffic through your network port and anything else which your firewall might block. I am not sure if WHM monitors incoming traffic or just outgoing.
Check with the Bandmin monitor on your server.. do a
http://hostname.yoursite.com/bandwidth/ . Add about 50gb to it and that should give you pretty much close to what your server is using.

But is there a way to know who or what is using that bandwidth?

Bandmin breaks it down by IPs so if that is going to help.
What username/pass does the bandmin area look for? Having trouble getting into mine
Edit: found it. Nevermind.

I'm having problems too! Any help?
There's a Set Bandmin Pass in WHM, near the top of the navbar.

In WHM under Server Setup, there is an option call 'Set Bandmin Password'. Bandmin will use the Login name and password set there.
