Hi all have you ever heard of this, what could be wrong? I seem to be having no problem with my server, I can connect to the website, SSH in, etc. However I cannot access CPanel/WHM via any of the shortcuts (/cpanel, /controlpanel, /whm, /securewhm, :2087, :2083, etc.) It's like it doesn't exist, I opened up my httpd.conf and they are listed there, but it just doesn't find anything. Could this have anything to do with the problem I seem to have had the past couple of days with apache (it just stops, and then the server attempts a restart) everything seems to be fine, and I never catch it just receive emails about it after it happens.
Anyway, if you have a suggestion on how I can connect to CPanel/WHM I would appreciate it!
Thanks

I could get there using
http://server_ip/whm or
http://server_ip:2086 or
http://server_ip:2087 . If you still cannot get there using any of these port, it might be that either your firewall or your ISP which may be blocking those ports.

hmmmm...it doesn't work for me, very odd, I disabled my firewall here at my computer and it didn't make any difference...any suggestions as to what I would ask my ISP to find out if it is at there end?

Check with them to see if they blocked port 2082, 2083 (Cpanel) and 2086 and 2087 (WHM) ?
Perhaps you could contact tech support here and have them check it out for you. Maybe cpanel server is down or not installed ?
If you SSH, you could restart Cpanel via
/etc/rc.d/init.d/cpanel restart
and see if it helps.

Yeah, I had tech support take a look at it and this is the reply I got:
"cPanel and WHM were not running, but I was able to start them with:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/cpanel start
from ssh."
figured it would work, but it didn't, tried restarting like you said but it still didn't work...hmmm...ISP next I guess

After the restart, were they able to enter Cpanel or WHM on their end ? It might be a bad install which causes the WHM to go down after it is up. Not sure. Might not be the firewall after all.

they didn't say, they closed the ticket think I should open another one, it used to work, that is why I didn't think it was corrupted...but it maybe

Was there anything done on your side or the server side which you think might have caused the problem ? Maybe a version of Cpanel which was just updated corrupted itself ?
I believe it was on another forum but someone could access his mails and then was looking high and low for solutions until he confesses that he changed ISPs. ;P

Lol, well let's see, I really haven't done anything with the server for the past two weeks haven't updated CPanel/WHM since they were working (unless it did it automatically or something). I have changed locations from home to college, so am connecting via a different ISP yes...that has changed...I don't know what could be wrong, as this is the first problem I have had, everything on the server seems to be working correctly, email, internet, SSH, etc. I just can't access either the CPanel or the WHM
Sorry, I know I probably sound like an idiot right now, I am just stumped as it doesn't make sense why it isn't working to me.

Hmm, might be a case of the new provider blocking those ports. By any chance you are accessing through the college network ? That might be the source of the problem.

Yes I am accessing through the college network, you think that is the issue they blocked the ports? If so is there any kind of work around? I will talk with the Information Services department here at school and see what's up but they are out today (because of MLK Day)

I did see a script somewhere which allows you to access Cpanel and WHM via port 80 but I don't remember where I saw it now. You could try doing a search at forums.cpanel.net , you should get some solution there.
