Full Version: will not let me login besides root

i created a new user with password and it wont let me login as the new user! i did this both from the support webpage and within the serv as root.

I would assume you are referring to a Linux or Unix based machine and you are trying to create a user to allow with root access but are unable to do it ? If you are using Cpanel, you will need to add that user as part of the SU Wheel group.

By default, only root has access and for others to have it, you need to assign that priviledge.

hmmm cuz i wanna run some gameservers but to my understanding i shouldnt do so as root. im using linux RSE, thas it.

i think it was: addusr (user) -ppassword

passwd username

and just checking, login ssh right?
