Hi this a two part question, and if this has been answered elsewhere please point me. have done several keyword searches on this subject with no luck.

I am currently renting a dedicated system from matrix and would like to know how to run more than one battlefield 1942 session. For example, one private 20 player and one public 24 player...

Next, I would like to know what I need to do to load and run Call of Duty on the server. It wont be run all of the time, I will be switching between one of the battlefield servers and CoD. The OS is Win2000. Will I need to have a separate license to run CoD on the server? I only have one copy that santa brought me... icon_biggrin.gif

Use your copy with this added. http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=3971 I havent ran a COD server but as it says you just need a full version of the game. Read the readme inside if it has one. Should explain everything. If you want to run 2 1942's load each one with different configs for different ports. If you want default ports you whould have to set each one to use a different ip on the dedicated server. Im not sure what the command is for 1942 to do so.

ok...thanks, but the BF1942 answer is too simplistic... what i mean is HOW do you speciically run two session? As far as I can tell you cant load it into two locations on the computer...

Howdy! I beleive we have had a few clan matches together Foxtrot! icon_smile.gif

Your BEST bet is to get a SuperXeon..My clan (WON-TON WARRiORS) runs 2- CoD Servers (run full 24/7), RavenShield, Renegade, Halo, Savage and MOHAA on it. Ofcourse they are never all full at the same time. My server has 2gb of ram in it which helps of course. But you should be able to run that with no problems at all.

Oh and btw, no you wont need a seperate license for CoD. Just upload the Call of Duty directory found in Program Files to your server, then create a config file and change some settings in the exe file. If you look on TWL forums you will find out how to do it there, or you can contact me on MSN, ICQ, or AIM.

Im very happy i chose the Xeon over the Gamerz, because it is a BEAST!

hope this helped.

hey humper92 i saw your stats on the orbit site and was looking at your site
Opteron
Just do a seperate copy of your BF Server folder to another directory, and change either the IP or port in your config, and run it from there...

I've been trying to install call of duty on my server also, i get this 256 color error or something like thing when installing, I think I'll try the directory upload suggestion
