Full Version: AUTH APOP errors when receiving email

Outlook keeps prompting me for my password and errors out with an authentication APOP error. Outlook Express/2000 doesn't have an APOP option and when select "My server requires authentication", same error occurs. Any thoughts?

I've turned off APOP on my RAQ's email server and it continues to give me these errors.

Do you think APOP is still enabled but doesn't show it via the control panel?

Eudora mail has an APOP option and we are able to receive mail, uncheck the APOP option and mail stops working in Eudora.

Need help, Thanks in advance!

I got the same problem, and my server installed Ensim(there is a squirrelmail included), it doesn't work as well in squirrelmail.

I have the XP version of outlook express... but what if you try this:

Under your mail account settings,
under the "servers" tab (2nd tab) check the option right under "save password" (to send encrypted)
last tab (advanced, check the SSL options)

does that work for you?
