Full Version: Mail Queue filling up with SPAM

Ok, I took a look at the mail queue via WHM, and it's shoing nearly 600 messages stored up. They all seem to be dictionary attack SPAM destined for one of my specific domains. That domain is configured through cPanel to ":fail:" for unknown addresses, yet theyre just building up. Any ideas on this?

They'll build up if they cannot be delivered. My mail queue never goes above 25 or so, but this morning I woke up to 1000 mail messages in the queue. It happened that a user's account had exceeded its space and so the server was holding the message. I uped the user's account, deleted the mail queue, and restarted POP and now everything is back to normal.

By doing this, did the mail get delivered to the client or where they simply deleted?
