Hey guys,

Since there is no presale forum I guess this is the right place. I was wondering if any of you guys allready have a RHE 3.0 server with cpanel?

If you do can you please answer a few questions for me?

1) Was the server properly configured?

2) Are there any major bugs?

I heard that some got it already. As for bugs and so on, I guess it will be some time before something like that can be reported. It is all too new. Most would probably only have it for a day or two and could just be still exploring and configuring the machine.

I see what you are saying eddy2099. I read a thread on the RS forum that one of the RHE 3.0 with Cpanel from SM was missing mysql and stuff like that. I just want to make sure that this is not the case for all of the installations.

I did initially have a couple issues with FTP and mySQL when I first got my box. Mainly, the root mysql password was not setup correctly (or I pooched it when I was doing the initial config) so I had to manually kill off mysql and then use cPanel to reset it. Took a few tries/variations, but I finally have a working db server.

FTP was a bit strange in that it would never run. it had some oddball error which I don't have anymore. I just used cPanel to switch to pureFTPD and my problems have disappeared.

Beyond those two items, RHEL and cPanel seem to get along pretty well. If *I* can make it work, being the absolute linux newbie that I am, i'm sure that a seasoned veteran would be able to get around with no problems at all. =)
