Sorry that I need to open new topic. Currently that old one can close.
My Server is running in Cpanel with RedHat 9. Which software can do this and how much the cost? If I ask the support to do it, there will be very cosy labour charge and I do not know the charges?
So Windows media is out of way, How about real player and quicktime?

For quicktime, you could opt for the Darwin Streaming Server.

For real player, you could use Helix Universal Server

A binary file in this case means that it has been recompiled for you. You do not get the source codes. You probably have to download the file, untar the file, read the Readme file to find out how to proceed after that.

I log in to ssh, go to home directory.
run wget to get the .bin file from real web site.
I use sh, got error message says that cannot execute binary file.
After that I do not know what to do.
Can anyone advise how to get readme file or install?

bahhhhh if your going to go for plain old audio, i would say use Shoutcast.
Its pretty easy to use, and if your going to be the one streaming the audio data to the server, for shoutcast all you need is a plugin for Winamp 2.x
Makes streaming MP3s a lot easier.
for video though, i dont have any idea...

Agreed ^^^ go with SHOUTcast for streaming audio. It's very easy to setup. Check out:
http://www.shoutcast.com/download/
It's also cool because your station will automatically get listed in shoutcast's directory when you stream. And not just audio, it's also for video. You have any options. But check out the site for more info. Make sure to pass by their forums for help.
