WOW this is one sweet deal, 2x 200 GB HDs in RAID 1 with 29 usable IPs and cPanel installed.
How sweet is that, coupled with 1000 GB monthly bandwidth, i think i may be grabbing one of these sometime soon
P.S. HAHA ALL, i am the FIRST one to post in this section W00t, Beat that klaude, with your 1000+ posts

What good is all that power if you're crippled by a measly 1TB/mth? My Celeron 1.7 can use that up, I'd need a lot more than 1TB if I had a box that was so much more powerfull like the Resellerz

You could get 6 Celeron 1.4 servers which Kevin was announcing the other day for that price giving you a grant total of 6tb traffic , 3gb of RAM and 240gb of harddisk space.

I would suggest to SM that they increase the bandwidth on this box to 1500.

I like that idea, adding more transfer per month to that, that would definitly make it more attractive to the reseller community!
the only problem with the idea of adding more monthly transfer per month, is that, me being a wanna be game server host, could buy one of those boxes (if they had extra bandwidth) and then get all that extra bandwidth for lexx then $100 (keep in mind the package has more HD space and more IPs) so if they up t to 1500 GB then im getting that 500 GB for like $50 or even less!
(by they way SM, you SHOULD do this, especially since im cheap

your not going to hit a tb worth of traffic if your running game servers...

Actually you can, depending on the game, then again I've only neared 1TB.

you can easily get near or over a TB for some game servers esp if you can somehow manage to run a lot of them on a server, I bet you could kill that TB with BF1942 (64 man server) that is full well say 22/7 and if you had another server on it that is also almost always full, i think youd lose that TB quite quick..
example, i had this Warcraft 3 like plugin running on a CS 1.6 server (matrix mod) and if i had keep it going (it was a 18 man server that was full about 90% of the time) it would have eaten up (by orbits estimates) a bit over 100 GB for the month.

what are the odds your going to have 2 ultra popular 64player bf servers at once? :

or if your a newb that overloads servers

Fine, forget games then. Think Shoutcast. A SuperCeleron with some memory could probably saturate the better part of a 100mbit line, for 20TB/mth or something
well that is a reasonable statement

see now i started this post so there is no dissing of zero0ne allowed
anyways i dont think that 2 64 BF1942 servers would be overlaoding a dual processor machine with 2 GB of ram?
do you?
who knows i havent messed with BF1942 yet, i will soon though....
and im not the one to talk about this x-tremegaming would be....
and lastly this is sorta veering away fromt eh topic, which is:
"who wants/needs one of these powerfull beasts?"

I think this is the wrong dual xeon configuration for you to look at if your planing on hosting 2 BF1942 servers, for one you dont need 2x200 gig hard drives, or the 30 some od IPs, or the cpanel that comes with it. Look at the other config for $100 a month less
meh, its just like my colocated box just 3 times less bandwith and minus the ide raid and the ips...
i do run a bf1942 so i kidna know how much bandwith it takes..

LOL i wasnt even thinking about wasting this server on BF1942, bah it is definitly catered towards the web hoster though, i mean look at those stats

I'm sorry, but if you know how to run a profitable company 1TB is more than plenty regardless of the machines power.
Never the less, you should be able to buy more without any problem. This is assuming you're not going to offer 50 GB / 400 GB transfer for $30.
Then again, who knows.
