All 3 servers of mine are down (and I see from teh announcement in Orbit that it is widespread) - and my phone calls have begun coming in from my customers.
Any information on how long this is going to be down and what happened?
I appreciate the fact that technicians are working on it right now - just hoping for a guesstimate.

My servers are back up now.
Hopefully this was a minimal problem and we won't see more downtime - over an hour was a bit scary...

My Server is down too,
I've only been here 2 days and already I'm seeing downtime (For over 1 1/2 hours).
I've migrated here from FDC, I hope I haven't made another wrong decision.
Are there any admin's that can give details on the current network problem?

I've been with Server Matrix for about six weeks now and this was the first bit of downtime I'd seen.
Network problems happen to EVERY large network from time to time. They seem to be on top of it and from what I've seen of their tech support so far I'm confident they'll get everything up and running as quickly as possible.
Don't worry, this isn't par for the course from the Planet as far as I can tell.

lol, the connections constantly being up and down, up and down. A few days ago it would be at 10 minute intervals.. 10 minutes up, 10 minutes down... Also the seemingly non-existant data center staff, but most of all, the non-communication.
I like to be informed of everything that affects my clients and I. If I don't know in advance what's happening, I can't pass the information on and I'm the one getting it in the neck. Last week I had to give 11 refunds and lost 14 customers thanks to FDC, I REALLY don't wanna experience the same thing here.
But at least they posted the problem in the network status forum, they wouldn't have bothered at FDC.

Umm... I have had 2 colo computers at a DC in Florida since october of 2001 and I have not experienced any downtime. That's 2 years and a goose egg. 0. nada.
I just came aboard at SM and thank god I haven't moved any sites yet.

I have faith. Yeah, it's a bit scary though. So far, I've been here a few weeks and the service is top notch compared to ServerBeach. I get the best ping times, no latency and super fast transfers. ServerBeach was one constant DoS attack after antoher and they are only tied in with T3's or something really slow that cause the network to crawl even with normal traffic. They promised OC3's soon but I guess that's still in the works for them.
Here, you can see and feel the difference and I'm sure after this outage, things will be as good or better than before.
So I'm hangin' in there... Hopefully this matter will be resolved soon.

I've only been around for less then a week. So far not so good for me...
It keeps coming back online, then off, then on then off, lots of package loss, lots of frustration for the small timer (me)... why did I switch and end up paying 200+ for a server that is not even up right now?
...anyhow, I hope this gets resolved soon or I want some credit on my account.

Same has happened to me this week it was on then off on off I have talked and sent in so many support tickets this week then I ever did before bah I don't think this is 99.9% uptime we should get like a free month or something or at least a couple more ip's

I don't care as long as we get up soon it's been 3 hours now for me

I've been with SM/TP for about 6 months now, this is probably the largest outage I've seen during that time.
Also - I can only think of 1, maybe 2, other times there was any kind of outage that I was in.
I wouldn't get too bent out of shape over this, it's definitely NOT typical behavior of their network.

I was there and the only thing they have better than SM is bigger hard drives. But what good is that when 10% or your packets never make it the end users? Or when @ 4pm (peek time for them) the network is crawling as if it was on a DSL? They are definitely suffering from growing pains. I'm IT and know these type of things happen every now and then. The best thing to do is get back up and learn from what just happened.

Dream on....that is not how an SLA works. You are compensated for the downtime through a formula based on the fee you pay and length of outage. Your "lost sales" are not any part of the equation and they never will be.
