Always, when I flush my DNS's cache, in the Stopping step says FAILED.
Please, can someone guide me to where to find the problem. I'll be very grateful.
[root@ensim MailScanner]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/nscd restart
Stopping nscd: [FAILED]
Starting nscd: [ OK ]
[root@ensim MailScanner]#
Thank you,

Look at the init script, and check how it is trying to stop it. Try executing it manually and see where it fails.

Thank's for your help faze.
The problem isn't that it can not stop, it fails because the NSCD is down.
If I start NSCD, it stays ON just for about 30 to 40 seconds and then goes down again.
I didn't find anything in the log files that can help me to fix the issue.
Any other idea will be greatly appreciated.

if you are familiar with strace, you may want to look for the startup syntax from the init script, and run it manually using strace. Then it should spit out some kind of error as to why its failing.

If I do #service nscd status -the answer is: nscd dead but pid file exists
Any other idea please?
