Hi there. We have a 7.5.4 server at ev1, and I just used the Plesk's updater tool, and it notified me that 8.0.1 was available. I am currently in the process of installing the updates/addons for the 7.5.4, but I was wondering if it was safe to upgrade to 8.0.1 - preferably without crashing any of the 500+ web sites we host!

Thanks!

Actually 8.1.0 is out. I am currently using it and it works fine. It is going to require some down time. But it should not be more than an hour or so. If you are uncomfortable in doing it. I offer upgrade services. Also if you have not made any major changes like a diffrent php etc.. you should not have any trouble. Good luck.

tkalfaoglu,
Did you do the upgrade on your server, and if so, how did it go? I'm getting ready to do the same thing on my server.

Thanks!

It went fine for me. Make SURE you have a SOLID backup before you do it. I have seen cases where upgrades go bad and loose the database. I had no issues. But sometimes plesk can complain about needing this or that.. 8.x.x is not so bad but 7.5.x can be. Anyway let me know if I can help anymore.

Agrutez,
How much would you charge to upgrade Plesk on my server from 7.5.3 to 8.1? It is a linux server running RHEL 3.

I will do it for $50. But there are some constraints. The box must already be COMPLETELY functional with no other issues. Other issues if any already exist would cost extra. Any issues that are due to the upgrade will be fixed by myself. I would be glad to have your business. You can contract me at agruetz@helixdevelopment.com or via my website. If fact I will up this one, for everyone. I will do this for anyone willing to pay the $50 that is within the constraints. upgrade will be garunteed to work 100% when done.
