Full Version: How to transfer a domain to a different account?

There must be a way, in Plesk 7.5 reloaded, to move a domain from one user account to another. Does anyone know what it is?
I really need to do this, and would rather not have to copy the files by hand, setup the db's, fix the scripts etc...

This is something that was built into Plesk beginning in Reloaded. Or at least I know it's there in 7.5.4 Reloaded.

Pull up the list domains in question as Admin via either the Domains or Clients link, then place a checkmark in the box out to the right. At the top of the list you should see an option to Change Owner. Choose that and it'll give you a list of all of the current Owners on the box. Select the one you want to move the domain(s) to and submit it.

FTR, there are some who have reported that making some changes like this cause the domain to stop working properly, including myself. So check the domains by navigating to them as normal surfers would to make sure. I've personally seen it when changing the IP number a domain is tied to.

A little trick that seems to correct these problems is to Disable the domain in PSA, then re-Enable it. I'm not sure what's not always getting updated but if I disable, then re-enable it seems to fix the error. Sometimes it also requires a restart of Apache, but not always.

I'm using 7.5.1... I hate to be "that guy", but I'm running up against a deadline and have a ton to do, would you happen to have a link for a patch to upgrade me to .4?

You need to enter the psa database, find the record from domains table for that domain and update the client_id as necessary.
