I have an e-mail account in cpanel. I want to replace the account hosted by me with a simple forwarder to somewhere else, but I want to keep the account, it's contents and settings - just inactive. Is there any way to rename the existing account? The best I can do is add the forwarder and set the quota of the account to 1; if I do that, however, the e-mails that go through the server are forwarded AND bounced back ('inbox full'), which kind of confuses everyone who sends mail to this account. Help (urgent) will be appreciated, please.

Very simple. Lets say your old account is called jimbob. Create your forwarder for jimbob to
emai@whatever.com. Then create a new email account called jimbob_archived. Then delete the main imap folder of the new account (/mail/yourdomain.com/jimbob_archived). Then rename the main imap folder of the old account (/mail/yourdomain.com/jimbob) to jimbob_archived. Done!

point the www subdomain to some other ip address... or if the other site already exists, use a CNAME to redirect it.

Thanks a lot splicesite. Just one thing - I can't login to the _archive account. It logs in in cpanel but then breaks in horde/squirrelmail with "unknown user or pass incorrect". Is there any way to fix this?
