Full Version: setting up first domain

Hi,

I ordered a new Plesk XP1900 server and found out how to go to the webadmin (PSA) --> wasn't even given in the welcome email!

When I want to create a new client, there an option at the bottom that says: "Client can create Name-based hosting using 216.40.193.230"

What is that ip address? It certainly isn't the ip address of my plesk server..

I've tried to create a domain with name-based ip, but that doesn't work (error: "This virtual host uses non-existent IP address for hosting"). I've added the domain now with IP-based hosting...and THAT works (but I want name-based).

What's wrong here?? The 216.40.193.230 ip address maybe?

Thanks,
Leon

hi,

had the same with my PLESK boxes, you need to run reconfigurator.sh

log into your box as root:

/usr/local/psa/bin/reconfigurator.sh

follow the prompts

this will configure your box correctly

you can also submit a RS Trouble Ticket and they may do it for you
