Yesterday I update my 4 servers with latest high priority security patch from Microsoft.

The one with Windows 2003 only successfully updated.

But the other three with Windows 2003 + Plesk 7.5 failed at "Security Update for Windows Server 2003 (KB917537)".

Anyone has same problem?

I have experienced a similar problem since this morning. I am unable to apply the 4 latest security updates to my Server 2003 box. I've tried searching this forum, Google and MSDN and so far found no solution.

I also noticed one other thing. I cannot do Server.CreateObject anymore. So anywhere on my server (in any ASP code including Helm) the code contains Server.CreateObject, it fails with this error:

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'
Server.CreateObject Failed

I am not sure if the two are related.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you un-select KB917537, you can successfully apply the other 3 updates.

I also post this problem at forum.plesk.com, but no one can help me now.

Are we the only two have this problem?

Thanks for your tip. I tried it again by removing the KB917537 update. This time I was able to install the other three. But I still cannot install KB917537. Is MSFT going nuts or is it just us!!!!

You're not alone. I've have the same problem on our fronend server.

To install the IIS security update from the Microsoft Update web site, you first need to shut down IIS.

After you shut down IIS, then the update runs fine.
