Hi all,

I am wondering if it is possible to set up 2 SSL certs on the same IP?

I have an IP based website (on a dedicated server) with one domain (domain.com) and a subdomain (sub.domain.com) pointing to that IP. The SSL is set up on www.domain.com. Now we figured out that with this configuration we canīt achieve our plan. We have to set up a SSL on sub.domain.com. So is it possible to buy a second SSL and set it up to sub.domain.com on the same IP?

Thanks for any information.

I'm pretty sure that there is no way to get more than one cert per IP. It's how the Apache server is written.

No you need a dedicated IP address for each SSL domain. If you want to use a 2nd subdomain you can either get a second ip + cert or get a wildcard ssl cert (something like $500+ they are expensive).

Yes right. You need a wild card SSL, if you want to use the same SSL certificate on every sub domain. Otherwise if you use the same SSL (Shared SSL) on the some domains, you will get a warning window that the website name does not match with the Certificate name. Although the encryption will work ok.
